Hello Spark Families!

We are excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage on September 26, 2024, and invite you to participate. Your support will help make this event a meaningful celebration for our students.

We also want to remind you that starting Monday, September 16, we updated our dismissal procedures to ensure safety. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us create a smoother, safer process for everyone.

October is shaping up to be a busy month! Please mark your calendars for our mandatory Family Conferences on October 11, and stay tuned for more details on the many exciting events and activities we have planned.

Hispanic Heritage

Thank you to all the parents who have asked how they can contribute to our event. Two ways to help: send the item listed below by grade, or sign up to bring a dish on the event day. 

Please send items with your student, or drop it off in the front office between 9:00-11:00am. The program is on 09/26/24.

• PK- forks/spoons
• K- plates and bowls (small and large)
• 1st - Water bottles
• 2nd - can sodas
• 3rd - cups/paper towels
• 4th - $2 donation (to front office)
• Latin Dish (on day of event)

Family Conferences (Mandatory for all Students)

YES Prep families can now make online payments through Skyward Family Access!

Pay for upcoming field trips and end of year events online.

Safety Drills

Safety is our top priority at Airline Elementary. To ensure staff and students are prepared for emergencies, we will conduct two safety drills per month, including fire, shelter-in-place, lockdown drills, etc.

Please talk to your children about staying calm and following instructions during these drills. Our staff will also explain the purpose of each drill to help students feel comfortable.

You can play this fire drill sound on your way home to help your student familiarize themselves with what they will hear.

Dismissal Line

Starting Monday, September 16, 2024:

No Parking in the Gate Before Dismissal Time: Parents arriving early for pick-up will no longer be permitted to park inside the gate area. This is an emergency lane and in the event of an emergency getting emergency crews inside our school in a timely matter is critical, any cars parked there will be asked to move by our officer. A cone has been placed to indicate where the car line will begin, and a photo is attached for reference.

Do Not Block Entrances: Please make sure not to block building entrances or street entrances when waiting in line.

No Cutting in Line: To maintain fairness, parents should not cut in line. If a family cuts, they will be asked to return to the back of the line or pick up their student from the front office at 3:40pm.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to improve our dismissal process. Additional guidelines on car line etiquette will be shared throughout the year.
